Posted on: February 19, 2009

Soshokukei danshi, or literally, “Grass-eating boys” are men in the 20’s who tend to:

  • be not aggressive toward women, love, and sex
  • be friendly, considerate, and co-operative but not interested in romance
  • would engage in activities with women, shopping  to traveling, but would not develop romantic relationship
  • would sleep next to women but would not actively engage in sexual relationship
  • prefer cocktails than beer
  • prefer being at home than going out
  • be fashion conscious
  • to conscious about ecology-friendly
  • eat little, drink little, and weigh little

yikes i hope this isn’t true…but I do know one guy at work that fits this description PERFECTLY…

I think I may be one of them, except I don’t drink, and I am not fashion conscious since I try to wear simple clothes.

That was an interesting read! I would love to read more posts from you ^^b Bookmarked this page =]

What is Tokyo Meet Market?

From the Western perspective, what goes on in the Japanese dating scene is really different and interesting! In this shy nation of Japan, meeting new people is almost institutionalized, dating and romance is littered with conventions that protect people from social awkwardness. What are dating conventions and rules in Japan? How do the shy Japanese people meet new people, develop affection, and express their passion? As I research and answer these question, I will write a real time report of what's going on in the Tokyo dating scene, or the "Tokyo Meet Market" here in this blog. I hope you enjoy my blog and a trip around Tokyo Meet Market with me!
