Ugggh, as if it’s not already difficult to find a partner in Tokyo Meet Market, now stores are selling robot girlfriends, which means more competitors for women in the Tokyo Meet Market.
Ladies! the enemy’s name is E.M.A.
E.M.A (エマ) stands for Eternal, Maiden, Actualization and is 38 centimeters tall, has a curvaceous body, sings and dances and using infrared sensors the robot will kiss nearby otaku when it goes into “Love Mode”. The female shaped humanoid robot was unveiled at the International Tokyo Toy Show June ’08 and is now on sale from SEGA from September ’08 for the price of 19,000JPY (about $190)
Here is more information on EMA:
TOKYO (Reuters) – She is big-busted, petite, very friendly, and she runs on batteries.A Japanese firm has produced a 38 cm (15 inch) tall robotic girlfriend that kisses on command, to go on sale in September with a target market of lonely adult men. Using her infrared sensors and battery power, the diminutive damsel named “EMA” puckers up for nearby human heads, entering what designers call its “love mode”. “Strong, tough and battle-ready are some of the words often associated with robots, but we wanted to break that stereotype and provide a robot that’s sweet and interactive,” said Minako Sakanoue, a spokeswoman for the maker, Sega Toys.” She’s very lovable and though she’s not a human, she can act like a real girlfriend.” EMA, which stands for Eternal Maiden Actualization, can also hand out business cards, sing and dance, with Sega hoping to sell 10,000 in the first year. Japan, home to almost half the world’s 800,000 industrial robots, envisions a $10-billion market for artificial intelligence in a decade. I wonder when they will make KEN or something like that so the lonely women can come home to “lovable boyfriend.” In fact, one of the most popular TV show from 2008 was about a robotic boyfriend called Zettai Kareshi “absolute boyfriend” which is a bout a girl accidentally orders a super expensive robotic boyfriend who finally accepts her and love her for who she is, after she’s been rejected by so many guys…
You see how lonely and hard it is to be out in the Tokyo Meet Market. People would actually compromise with a robotic boyfriend/girlfriend to ease their pain and loneliness…

and she's already kissing him! lol poor bastard!
What do you think?
